Vehicle fire on Hooper Avenue
On Tuesday night, June 2, the Silverton Fire Company was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Hooper Avenue near the Silverton Wawa.
Assistant Chief 2910 Cocco arrived on scene, reported a working engine compartment fire, and established command. Engine 2931 and Squad 2913 responded and quickly extinguished the fire. Operations were carried out under the leadership of Senior Firefighter/EMT Montero and Safety Officer Reynolds, who worked alongside several newly certified probationary firefighters that recently completed six months of training and earned their firefighter certifications.
This call was especially memorable for Probationary Firefighter C. Keating, as it was his first working fire and his first time operating on the handline. Firefighter Keating recently completed his training and certification process and proudly stepped into action during this incident.
Following in his family’s footsteps, Firefighter Keating has continued a proud tradition of service in the fire department. Congratulations to Firefighter Keating on reaching this important milestone in his firefighting career.
